    Touch-a-Truck with
    DC Fire & EMS

    Firefighters will bring a real fire truck to FOKP! Children of all ages are encouraged to attend. Bring your burning questions for DC’s bravest while they show off their fire truck and gear. After the touch-a-truck portion the firefighters will give a winter safety demonstration. During the meeting, homeowners can sign up for free smoke detectors.

  • FOKP Holiday Bash!

    Join us a for a magical evening of festive fun, food, and neighbors at the Friends of Kingman Park Annual Holiday Party! Let’s celebrate the season with warm cheer, good company, and holiday treats. We’re decking the halls for a night of merry-making, and we hope you’ll be there!

    Treats, food, or beverages to share are very welcome.
    We’ll have games and cookie decorating for the kiddos.

    Representatives from the Commanders, including Kirtan Mehta, Vice President of Public Affairs, will discuss Kingman Park community engagement, stadium development, and construction at the RFK campus.

    A representative from Free DC will be in attendance to discuss how the community can get involved.

    The FOKP Board currently has three open positions and elections will be in October. The Nominating Committee elected at the June Community Meeting will make nominations for the Board of Directors at the September Meeting.

    Dues:

    Dues are $10 a year for individuals or $20 dollars a year per household.

    Reminder: RFK Listening Session with At-Large CM Robert White and Ward 3 CM Matt Frumin
    Thursday July 17, 2025, 6-7:30pm
    St Benedict the Moor, Quander Room

    Meet with DC Councilmembers Robert White and Matt Frumin to discuss the RFK Stadium redevelopment proposal. CM White represents Ward 7 residents as an At-Large Councilmember. CM Frumin (Ward 3) oversees DC Parks and Recreation as Chair of the Subcommittee on Recreation and Community Affairs. This is an in-person only meeting.

  • Friends of Kingman Park May Updates

    Bylaws Review Postponed
    After discussion at the May Community Meeting, the review of the bylaws will be delayed until at least November. Look for more updates in the future.

    Open Board Positions and Nominating Committee
    The FOKP Board currently has three open positions. We will be holding elections for these positions in October. To fill these board positions we will be electing a Nominating Committee, of at least three members, at the June Community Meeting. The Nominating Committee will then make nominations for the Board of Directors. If you are interested in being on the nominating committee please attend this meeting. The Nominating Committee will be elected by current members of FOKP. To be a current member, you must have paid your dues for the year. If you have any questions regarding this process, please reach out by email to fokpcvic@gmail.com

    To find the Quander room, enter through the parking lot on 20th St and proceed to the north building.


    Please join us for our May Community meeting. We recently had a group propose amendments to our bylaws. We will be presenting the updated bylaws at this meeting and we will also publish them online. Members in good standing (those that have paid their dues for the year) will be able to vote on the amendments at the following meeting in June.
