We are researching opportunities to assist neighbors age in place and utilize other resources for historic neighborhoods. Please visit the DC Office of Planning Kingman Park Historic District to find more information, including:
- Boundaries for the historic district
- Kingman Park Historic Designation Staff Report – As part of the application process, the Historic Preservation Office prepared and published a report which details both the grounds for which Kingman Park was declared historic as well as aggregates many stories about our neighborhood. This is a great way to learn important history about our community.
- Kingman Park Historic District Design Guidelines: The historic designation requires residents to follow additional rules when it comes to making changes that are visible to your home from the outside.
- The Historic Planning Office has presented at FOKP meetings before and after the historic designation was finalized. FOKP also established a working group to collect community feedback and aggregate recommendations and edits in response to the draft design guidelines. Our list of recommendations was approved by FOKP and all of ANC7D. Ultimately, only some of these requests were adopted by HPO.
